Associate of Business Administration
Program Description
The Embedded Academic Associate Degree provides students an opportunity to receive an associate degree should they be unable to complete the process of pursuing their bachelor’s degree. Students will be contacted and invited to accept an associate degree that is merited by the credit they have earned towards their bachelor’s degree. This credential recognizes their accomplishment and its value for their career. Students may not participate in a commencement ceremony for receiving an associate degree. Students who earn the associate degree are encouraged to continue pursuit of a bachelor’s degree when they are able. The credits applied to the associate degree will be applicable within the initial bachelor’s degree catalog.
Additional Requirements
Students must be admitted and enrolled at TAMU-CC in a degree-seeking status. Students who need to be readmitted will be required to meet the degree requirements of the current catalog.
Students must not have been awarded an associate degree elsewhere.
The Embedded Academic Associate Degree will not be awarded in the same semester that the baccalaureate degree is awarded or in any semester following the completion of the baccalaureate degree.
General Requirements
University Core Curriculum Requirements (42 hours)
For core areas, equivalent transfer course work may be applied.
Courses should be applicable to the baccalaureate degree being pursued. Students should review their baccalaureate degree plan and work with their assigned advisor each semester to ensure correct courses are taken.
Non-exempt students must meet the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements, a legislatively mandated program designed to ensure that all students enrolled in public colleges and universities possess the academic skills needed to be successful in college-level course work.

Notes pertaining to University Core Curriculum Requirements:

Students who have taken COMM 1315 Public Speaking (3 sch) previously at TAMUCC or another institution can count these courses toward completion of the Communication Foundational Component Area.

Students should complete the Communication Component Area by the end of the sophomore year. Students who transfer into the University without equivalent credit should complete these courses as soon as possible.

For 4-SCH courses that are taken as a Foundational Component Area requirement, students may count the extra 1 SCH of each course as part of the Component Area Option (to a maximum of 3 SCH).

Students who have passed MATH 2413 Calculus I (4 sch) may take MATH 2414 Calculus II (4 sch) to satisfy up to 4 hours of the Component Area Option.

Students are required to take the major-specific core requirements for certain foundational component areas.
