3 sem. hrs. (3:0) Introduction to the study of viruses, including viral life cycles, replication schemes and Baltimore classification of representative bacteriophages, plant and animal viruses. Emphasis on analysis and review of primary literature on viruses. Prerequisites: BIOL 2416 - Genetics, BIOL 2421 - Microbiology and CHEM 1411 - General Chemistry I.
