BIMS 4406 - Immunology

4 sem. hrs. (3:3) An overview of immunology with emphasis on current knowledge of the immune system. Detailed examination of the specific cells, cytokines, antibodies, and molecules that comprise the immune system. Laboratory exercises demonstrate the basic principles and techniques used in immunologic studies. Prerequisite: BIOL 2421 - Microbiology  ( BIOL 3345 - Cell Physiology  or  BIOL 3410 - Cell Biology  is recommended). Corequisite: Safety training given in  SMTE 0092 - Biomedical Laboratory Safety Seminar  is required for continued participation in this course.
