CMSS 6328 - Coastal Oceanography Using Remote Sensing

3 sem. hrs.
This course introduces and illustrates pivotal concepts and processes in coastal physical oceanography and remote sensing. The coastal ocean is a complex, dynamic and highly variable system, described by many variables with highly non-linear interacting processes. To characterize coastal ocean’s variability and predict its responses to climatic or man made changes requires understanding of underlying physical processes and continuous in situ sampling augmented by high resolution remote sensing data.
