Demand and supply, consumer behavior, elasticity, production costs, competitive and non-competitive market structures and models of the modern market price system are analyzed. Emphasis on use of marginal analysis to determine prices, output, income and economic welfare in a market price system. Satisfies the economics component of the University core curriculum. Prerequisite: MATH 1314 or equivalent. Satisfies the economics component of the University core curriculum.
